The once proud Coronado fleet retires and
is put up for sale to SPANTAX, the oldest ones were stored and later flown
to the scrapyard. |

The huge Jumbo’s opened
a new era of wide bodied long haul traffic, HB-IGA and HB-IGB the two 747-200B-models
served mainly the NAT- route. |

With the new Hangar
III the wide bodies had an appropriate maintenance space. Balair also received
their special DC-10-30 with an underfloor galley in the forward cargo hold. |

A vintage Fokker F-VII-A
had been restored in house for the Swiss transport museum by a Special
team of Swissair-veterans later called the: FOKKER TEAM. |

Last flight of the Coronado
HB-ICC to Alpnach airbase and then via barge across the Vierwaldstättersee
to the museum. In the fleet DC-8’s and DC–10’s are the main workhorses. |

shifts some refreshing alpine excursions kept the team spirit high. Sir
Freddie Laker took delivery of new DC-10-30’s among others in LGB. |

One of the last flights
